Magic of Mantra, Thu 20 Feb 2025, 6PM

I'm delighted to offer an in-person Mantra Session at Cobblestones on Thursday 20 February 2025 at 6pm.

Working together in a small group to learn a sacred mantra, to chant together and experience the power of the group energy, and then work with it individually until we meet again.

Student numbers are limited so this class is offered on a first-come, first-served basis!

Futons, blankets and cushions will be provided. If you have a favourite blanket or cushion then feel free to bring it along!

The Magic of Mantra

• A mantra can be so helpful when we veer towards negative or over thinking... it gives the mind something different to do which is more positive and of a higher vibration. It’s a wonderful way to increase concentration and focus.
• Chanting also directly affects the chakra system; the subtle energy system of the body that we work with in yoga; it charges up the chakras with more energy, and brings about a harmony and balance to the whole system. So we feel great and have more vitality as a result.
• Specific mantras have their own vibration. They act like a sound code to unlock a different part of our body/mind/spirit connection. For instance, there are mantras to open or heal the heart, mantras for courage, for prosperity, for balancing the elements. The list goes on!

• Chanting brings you into your own sound current, the medicine of your voice! Only you have this particular sound current; it's yours alone, and the vibrations that you produce with it are the best form of healing... beyond any sound bath I can offer! It can give you more confidence to use your voice, overcome shyness and step into a stronger sense of self.

• Mantra connects directly to the heart and can offer deep spiritual connection. Chanting with devotion is one of the best (and fastest) ways to connect to your own divinity and spiritual nature. These beautiful sounds take us straight to the heart, rising above all the chatter of the mind and can offer deep peace, healing and your own experience of your spiritual nature, with no connection to religion in any way.

• They can change your life! A big claim, I know, but I've seen the results, and felt them myself. BUT... we need to commit to daily practice in order to access these shifts for ourself. And that's where this group comes in; we will learn the mantra together, and commit to working with it daily for six weeks until we meet again.
• Chanting activates the nervous systems 'rest and digest' response via the vagus nerve, so is super helpful in order to keep us feeling calm and at ease and keeping us out of the ‘fight and flight’ response where we may feel a little on edge and find it hard to relax.
